1977 Queen's Jubilee - Money raised and used to build
a room at St Vincent named the Jubilee Room - this was to become the
first home for GADSAD
Late 1977 - Early 1978 - The British Sports Association
for Disabled (BSAD) Southern Region approached GBC Recreation Committee
to help set up a Sports Club for the Disabled.
03 Feb 78 - GBC invites other organisations to send
a representative to meeting at Town Hall to set up a Steering Group

Mar 78 - GADSAD first home - St Vincent Jubilee Room
07 Aug 93 - GADSAD left St Vincent after many happy
years due to more room required by the School.
Aug 93 - Moved into Bridgemary Community School using
a large hall - 10,000 grant secured to purchase garage to house equipment
within the school grounds. Time spent at Bridgemary was happy with plenty
of support given.
Early 99 - Mayor approached GADSAD to offer us along
with other clubs the use of the Old Red Cross Centre in Elson. GADSAD
Jul 99 - With the help of a small band of volunteers
we set about cleaning and clearing the old building putting in new toilets
2002 - Started fundraising for an additional Sports
Feb 09 - New Sports Hall Built
Oct 12 - Solar paneling was installed in the Sports
Nov 12 - Most of the old hall was destroyed by fire
and GBC decided to knock down the original hall completely and rebuild.
Sep 15 - After three years of waiting, keys to our
new building were finally handed over.
Apr 16 - Heating was installed in the Sports Hall
Mar 18 - GADSAD celebrated its' 40th Anniversary, having
been founded in March 1978, and is now a well established, friendly
and happy club.
